Simon Cowell is to bring a roulette Game Roulette to UK TV in his latest reality TV idea.
American and Pop Idol supremo and high waistband/pants up by his armpits merchant Simon Cowell is betting on the casino game of roulette for his next TV venture. Cowell is working hard on a UK TV game show called Red and Black where players have the chance to win a £1 million prize in a game themed on roulette.
Cowell claims that Red and Black will be the "biggest, noisiest and most expensive show in UK history."
Cowell is attempting to use some of the UK's grandest venues, such as London's The O2 Wembley Arena to fill the venue with a 17,000-plus audience. Entry will be only £1 to take part and players will be summoned down like in the "Price is Right" and then cut down to size until one lucky punter is left to spin a roulette wheel for a chance at scopping £1 million.
Simom Cowell´s cheeky chappie Geordie sidekicks Ant and March are rumoured to host the show during its March run.
"Simon Cowell is made up about this program. It will be the biggest thing to hit UK TV since Big Brother. He has been working on the idea for a while and the pieces of the jigsaw puzzle are starting to come together. It is unprecednted in the number of contests and also the big prize on offer on the spin of a roulette wheel – a cool £1m resting on the spin of a roulette wheel. It is not only a massive bet for the players, but a big gamble for Simon and ITV, but they are sure it is going to be a big hit."
Red and Black is due to go on air on ITV 1 each evening over the course of a week in March 2025, until all the players have been whittled down to one. Then the roulette wheel is spun!
