Roulette player Loses the Plot in Swansea and Hurls Trolley

Watch out if you are playing roulette in South Wales! A furious gambler threw a trolley at a roulette wheel in Wind Street casino in Swansea, causing more than £800 of damage when he lost his rag.

Mr N. Philippart, aged 26, saw red after losing a £100 gambling chip. He informed the pit boss that he'd lost the chip. Staff at the casino helped him to look for it, and when they were unable to find it, the player became "agitated and abusive" towards them. He then completety lost it and "lifted up a trolley and threw it at the roulette table".

Unfortunately for Mr Philppart, the casino had CCTV footage of his throw.

Philippart has pleaded guilty to causing criminal damage, but disputes the value of the damage he caused.

The original charge had it that Philippart had caused more than £6,000 worth of damage to the roulette wheel — a figure strongly rejected by the defence team.

A sum of just over 800 quid had now been agreed.

Mr Phillppart pleaded guilty staright away, but it seems that the casino, Aspers, were extracting the Michael, shall we say, on the damages. The only thing in dispute was the value.
Philippart was fined £200 and ordered to pay £806.05 in compensation to the casino. There are also £85 costs and a £15 victim surcharge to pay.

The guy has obviously owned up to being a plank in a moment of madness and paid what he owed. But come on, Aspers.....adjusting your estimate of damage from six grand to eight hundred quid? That´s plain ridiculous.....
